Ahmedabad: After a prolonged period of redevelopment, the much-awaited Balvatika at Kankaria Lake Front is set to open its doors to the public on April 15. The Balvatika, a popular amusement park in Ahmedabad, has undergone a complete transformation and will now feature 28 exciting activities, making it one of the most innovative entertainment destinations in Gujarat.
The renovation, which is nearing completion, includes the addition of several unique attractions such as a Wax Museum, Glass Tower, Illusion House, and Flying Theater. These new additions promise to captivate visitors with one-of-a-kind experiences. The Glass Tower, which offers stunning views from a height never seen before in India, and the Wax Museum, the first of its kind in Gujarat, will undoubtedly be the star attractions. The Illusion House and Flying Theater will also be debuting in the state, adding to the thrill and excitement.
Many of the newly revamped attractions will be available to visitors free of charge with the general entry ticket. These include the Coin House Key, Glass House, Shoe House, Landscape Garden, Selfie Zone, and Glow Station. However, certain premium activities such as rides and experiences will have separate charges, with pricing to be announced soon.
The redevelopment of Balvatika has been undertaken on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis, with an investment of Rs. 22 crore. The project aims to modernize and upgrade the park to offer world-class entertainment for all age groups, from children to adults. In addition to the exciting rides, museums, and themed zones, visitors can enjoy adventure activities, including the Dinosaur Train, Mud Bike, and the Lazy River mini-boat ride.
The revamped Balvatika is expected to generate substantial revenue. In previous years, the park generated an estimated Rs. 10 lakh annually, but with the new additions, the Municipal Corporation is expected to receive 27% of the revenue share, estimated at Rs. 40 lakh annually. The Superstar Amusement Pvt. Ltd., the contractor responsible for the renovation, will handle all aspects of park maintenance, including security, employee salaries, and utilities.
The revamped Balvatika will introduce an array of exciting games and attractions designed to thrill visitors of all ages. Among the many offerings, kids can enjoy the Jumping Adventure, which allows four children to jump at once, and the X Warrior, where kids can drive themselves in a fun-filled self-drive activity. For a royal experience, the Royal Ride accommodates two children, while the Robot (Moving Activity) is a one-person attraction. The Dinosaur Train will entertain up to eight children, taking them on an adventurous ride. Other unique features include the Wax Museum, which can accommodate 15 people and presents life-like wax figures, and the Flying Theater (AC), where eight visitors can enjoy a thrilling flying experience. For a chilling adventure, the Snow Park (Nabh Darshan) offers a unique journey through the nine planets in a world of snow. Additionally, the VR Reality (AC) area will feature 20 games and bumper cars for kids. The Mirror Maze (AC) provides a puzzling experience for up to seven people, while the Adventure Ride is designed for six children to enjoy thrilling rides together. These are just a few of the new attractions that make Balvatika a must-visit destination for families and thrill-seekers. DeshGujarat
