Rahul Gandhi fighting with West India: Senior Congress leader at AICC convention in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Former Youth Congress President Srinivas BV made a controversial remark during the AICC convention here on Wedensday, stating that just as Mahatma Gandhi fought the East India Company and Rahul Gandhi is now fighting the West India.

While addressing the 84th AICC convention held at the Sabarmati Riverfront in the city on Wednesday, Srinivas said, “Mahatma Gandhi fought a battle with the East India Company. Our respected Rahul Gandhi ji is fighting a battle with the West India. These people—two people—are selling, and these two people are buying.”

Srinivas was clearly pointing out the Western Indian State of Gujarat from where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah belong to. Also two Gujarati industrialists Ambani and Adani have remained on target of Congress party. Rahul Gandhi mentioned Adani Ambani in yesterday’s speech also in AICC convention.

This is not first instance in which Gujarat is targetted or mentioned in a bad taste by Congress leaders. Party leader Rahul Gandhi himself has mentioned Gujarat in bad taste in his public meetings in Assam, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra in the past, apart from other party leaders. DeshGujarat
