Gujarat BJP meeting at Kamalam: Party to promote Ambedkar’s thoughts through week-long campaign
April 12, 2025
Gandhinagar: A crucial meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is underway at Shri Kamalam, the state party headquarters. Chaired by Gujarat BJP President and Union Minister C.R. Patil, the meeting witnessed the participation of Lal Singh Arya, National President of BJP’s Scheduled Caste Morcha, along with all BJP MLAs, MPs, and several district- and taluka-level presidents.
Addressing a press conference, Lal Singh Arya highlighted the party’s ‘Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Samman Abhiyan’ to mark Ambedkar’s birth anniversary. He stated that on April 14, BJP workers will offer garlands at statues of Babasaheb Ambedkar across the country and recite the Preamble to the Constitution at these locations. From April 14 to 24, lectures will be organized in every district to promote Ambedkar’s vision and the Constitution, with two speakers in each district presenting the BJP’s perspective to the public.
Arya also took a swipe at the Congress, alleging that the party failed to build a national memorial for Ambedkar while in power. He further claimed that after Ambedkar’s death, his body was transported in a private plane, and the cost was borne by his wife—not the government. Arya emphasized that while Congress merely talks about Ambedkar, it was the BJP that elected India’s first Dalit President and built Ambedkar’s memorial.
Key national issues such as the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), One Nation One Election, and the Waqf Bill were also discussed during the meeting. BJP leaders will engage with the public to raise awareness about these subjects. The ongoing meeting at Kamalam is focused on program planning, training, and strategic discussions for the Ambedkar campaign and is expected to continue until 6:00 PM. DeshGujarat
