Beware of cheating at multistorey parking near Atal Bridge at Sabarmati Riverfront

Ahmedabad: A video is going viral on social media showing that the agency managing the multi-storey parking facility near Atal Bridge on the Sabarmati Riverfront has allegedly been overcharging customers.

In the video, a customer conducting a sting operation parks his car at the multilevel parking and returns after around two hours. At the exit, he is asked to pay ₹100 but is not given a bill. Upon demanding a receipt, the parking manager provides one for only ₹40. When the customer questions the discrepancy, an argument breaks out, and a person claiming to be the owner of the parking firm intervenes and asks the customer to stop recording the video.

The customer continues questioning the owner about the ₹100 charge. In response, the alleged owner says, “I won’t take money from you. Why else did I pay ₹1.5 crore for the tender?” He adds, “Only we know how to get money from people,” and then calls the incident a mistake.

It was also revealed that no rate board was displayed at the parking facility. When questioned about it, the owner claimed that the board “keeps falling” and pointed to a board placed facing the reverse side.

The incident has highlighted how parking facility operators may exploit customers in the absence of visible rate boards. DeshGujarat
