Gujarat towns observe bandh as tribute to Pahalgam terror attack victims

Bhavnagar: Palitana in Bhavnagar and the towns of Idar and Vadali in Sabarkantha district observed a voluntary market shutdown in memory of the victims killed in the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
As a mark of respect, traders and shopkeepers in these towns kept their businesses closed, expressing solidarity with the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic incident. The terror attack, which took place on April 22 in Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam, Anantnag district, left 26 people dead.
Among the deceased were three individuals from Gujarat: Shailesh Kalathiya from Surat, and Yatish Parmar and his son Smit from Bhavnagar. The bodies of the deceased arrived in Gujarat late Wednesday night, and their funeral rites were performed this afternoon at their native places.
