April 25, 2025
Gandhinagar: Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) today made an important announcement that from 27.04.2025, the Ahmedabad – Gandhinagar metro rail services shall be extended up to Sachivalaya (the State Secretariate and Assembly complex campus). GMRC also informed that seven new seven metro stations will become operational with this from this same date.
The metro stations to be operational from 27 April 2025 are Koteshwar Road (located just next to the Motera stadium station), Vishwakarma College (also the Gujarat Technological University – GTU headquarters), Tapovan Circle, Narmada Canal, Koba Circle(the State BJP headquarters is nearby), Sector 10A and Sachivalaya (also the campus where the State assembly is located).
Sachivalaya as destination of metro train is a great news for thousands of staffers working there, while having their residences in Ahmedabad. Gandhinagar as the State capital was born in 1970s. Decades after that, finally, the capital town with its core area will be linked to the largest city of Gujarat – Ahmedabad in affordable and efficient manner. DeshGujarat
