Ahmedabad: In good news for people traveling from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport, a new domestic lounge is set to open at Terminal 2 (T2) of the airport.

With several domestic airlines shifting their operations from Terminal 1 (T1) to T2, there has been an increase in passenger footfall at T2, leading to a demand for upgraded lounge facilities. In response, a new domestic lounge is being created at T2, featuring greater seating capacity and several amenities like power outlets, fast Wi-Fi, and food and drink options.

Traditionally serving as the international terminal, T2 is being expanded to function as an integrated terminal for both domestic and international flights. This action aims to better utilize T2’s space during daytime hours, as most international flights operate at night, while also reducing the stress on the domestic terminal.

The upgrades are not limited to Terminal 2. Plans are underway to refurbish the domestic lounge at T1, transforming it into a more luxurious and relaxing area for passengers. DeshGujarat
