Ahmedabad Metro staff returns bag with ₹4.59 lakh cash to passenger

Ahmedabad: A passenger who accidentally left behind a bag containing ₹4.59 lakh in cash at an Ahmedabad Metro station was reunited with it, thanks to the alertness and honesty of the metro staff.
A Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation official, said, “On April 30, 2025, at around 9:35 AM, a passenger accidentally left behind a bag containing ₹4,59,000 in cash at a metro station. Thanks to the alertness of the security team and station staff present at the location, the bag was quickly noticed. After appropriate verification, the SRP confirmed the cash amount in the bag.”
“The metro staff promptly initiated the necessary procedure, and when the rightful owner arrived at the station to claim the bag, it was safely returned after proper verification in the presence of the station controller. The passenger became emotional upon receiving their valuable belongings and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the honesty and efficiency of the metro staff.
