New flyover to come up in Patan; to be named after Kilachand Devchand
May 01, 2025
Patan: A general body meeting of the Patan Municipality was held on Wednesday, during which 49 agenda items were discussed, the majority of which were approved after deliberation. One of the key resolutions passed was to name the new under construction flyover overbridge on the road from the Railway Station to the University after Patan’s philanthropist Sheth Kilachand Devchand. The proposal was unanimously approved by the members.
The committee also discussed the need to install high-mast towers and floodlights at around 10 different locations in the city, including along the Chanasma–Patan–Deesa and Unjha–Patan highways.
Instructions were issued to municipal staff to remove encroachments that are increasingly obstructing city roads. Additionally, it was decided to consider the requests of waterpark and construction branch workers for equal pay, in line with university standards, and to take appropriate action as per the rules.
Regarding the newly constructed road in Ambaji Neliya, which has already developed damage, the meeting resolved not to release the contractor’s deposit until the road is repaired and the remaining work is completed. DeshGujarat
