Gujarat sees slight dip in heat, but maximum temperatures remain above normal

Ahmedabad: Gujarat witnessed minor relief on Thursday as maximum temperatures dipped in many cities across the state. However, the mercury remained above normal in several districts. Rajkot recorded the highest temperature at 43.6°C, followed closely by Ahmedabad and Surendranagar, both registering 43.5°C. The state capital, Gandhinagar, was also among the hottest cities with a maximum temperature of 43.0°C.
Temperatures remained 1–2°C above normal in many areas, indicating continued heat stress. Notably, Diu recorded a sharp deviation with 40.0°C—7°C above normal. Baroda recorded 40.6°C, while Surat witnessed 38.6°C. Relative humidity varied significantly, ranging from as low as 15% in Ahmedabad and Amreli to as high as 83% in Porbandar.
Minimum temperatures, i.e., nighttime temperatures, ranged from 21.2°C in Porbandar to a warm 27.6°C in Ahmedabad. It is also noteworthy that the India Meteorological Department has issued a warning of light to moderate rainfall in some parts of Gujarat starting tomorrow.
