10 kg of Unclaimed Charas Packets Found on Kutch Coast
May 03, 2025
Kutch: The recurring issue of unclaimed drug packets washing ashore along the Kutch coastline appears to have resurfaced. In a recent incident, the Kothara police recovered 10 packets of suspected charas (hashish) from near the Khuada village coastline in the Abdasa taluka. The discovery of these unclaimed narcotics continues to fuel speculation about their origin and intended destination.
According to police reports, during routine patrolling, authorities found 10 packets, each weighing approximately one kilogram, of suspected charas in an unclaimed state near the Khuada village beach. The Kothara police have seized the packets and initiated further legal proceedings.
It is noteworthy that for several years, the recovery of charas packets along the coastline of this border region has been a persistent concern. Local and national investigative agencies have been actively involved in probing these incidents. However, the mystery surrounding how these drug packets consistently reach the shore remains unsolved.
The operation to recover the latest consignment involved the In-charge Police Inspector of Kothara Police Station, B.P. Kharadi, along with ASI Joravarsinh Jadeja and Manekbhai Gadhvi of the Special Operations Group (SOG). Head Constables Maheshbhai Prajapati, Kuldipsinh Rana, Ravirajsinh Jadeja, Constables Mahendrabhai Ratadiya, Alpeshbhai Chaudhari from Kothara Police Station, as well as AIO of SIB and SRD Ajay Sinh Jadeja, were also part of the team.
