Local Hindus protest sale of house to Muslim man in Dabhoi

Vadodara: Local Hindu residents staged a protest over the sale of a house to a Muslim man in the Vankarvas area of Dabhoi. The house in question is located directly opposite a Hindu temple, and the owner, Keshavbhai Makwana, sold it to Hanifbhai from the Muslim community. This led to loud protests by local Hindus, who strongly opposed the presence of a Muslim in the area and demanded that the house be vacated.
Protesters submitted a memorandum to the Dabhoi sub-divisional officer, demanding intervention. They claimed that cultural and religious differences between the communities could disturb social harmony. Several women voiced concerns that the presence of a Muslim household might negatively affect matrimonial prospects within the community. Protesters further warned that if the authorities fail to act, they may be forced to leave the area—something they cannot afford. The community has demanded that the administration mediate the situation and have the house vacated, urging the buyer to relocate to a Muslim-majority locality. DeshGujarat
