Permanent addition of extra AC 3-Tier coach to August Kranti Tejas Rajdhani Express

Mumbai: In a move to enhance passenger convenience and accommodate the increasing demand for travel between Mumbai and Delhi, Western Railway has announced the permanent addition of an extra AC 3-Tier coach to the August Kranti Tejas Rajdhani Express.
This addition, effective from May 7, 2025, for departures from Mumbai Central and from May 8, 2025, for departures from Hazrat Nizamuddin, will significantly increase the train’s carrying capacity by approximately 72 additional passengers per trip.
The August Kranti Tejas Rajdhani Express, operating as train numbers 12953 and 12954, is a premium train renowned for its speed, punctuality, and high-quality onboard services on the busy Mumbai-Delhi route.
According to Western Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Mr. Vineet Abhishek, this augmentation will provide more comfortable travel options and help in clearing the waiting lists, offering relief to long-distance travelers.
This initiative reflects Western Railway’s ongoing commitment to improving passenger experience and addressing the growing travel needs on this important route.
