IMD Forecasts Heavy Rains, Thunderstorm in Parts of Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Severe parts of Gujarat have been receiving unseasonal rain since the start of the week, and this weather phenomenon is likely to continue for another 6 days. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), in its latest forecast, has issued a yellow alert for heavy rains during the next 24 hours in Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
Other than these districts in South Gujarat, all other districts of the state are likely to witness light to moderate rain.
Furthermore, the IMD has issued an orange alert for moderate thunderstorms with lightning and surface winds of 50-60 km/h (in gusts) accompanied by moderate rain, very likely at isolated places in districts namely Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, and Botad during this period.
As per the bulletin, the intensity of rainfall is expected to decrease from tomorrow, but all the districts are likely to experience rain at isolated places until May 11th.
On May 12th, all the districts, barring Kutch, are expected to get light rainfall.
On May 13th, only Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, and Diu may experience rain.
From May 14th, the state is likely to witness normal weather after this spell of rain, which occurred due to multiple cyclonic circulations. DeshGujarat
