Ahmedabad: In light of the prevailing tension between India and Pakistan, the Gujarat government has cancelled all types of leave for officers and employees across all departments and offices, including Boards, Corporations, Panchayats, Municipal Corporations, and autonomous or grant-in-aid institutions, with immediate effect.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel announced this decision via the social media platform X. “In view of the prevailing situation, all types of leave for officers and employees of all departments and offices of the state government, as well as Boards, Corporations, Panchayats, Municipal Corporations, and autonomous and grant-in-aid institutions, have been cancelled with immediate effect. Instructions have also been issued to the heads of the respective departments or offices to ensure that officers and employees currently on leave report back to duty with immediate effect. Additionally, officers and employees have been instructed not to leave headquarters without prior approval from the head of the department.” he stated.
Earlier, the Chief Minister held a high-level meeting in Gandhinagar to review Gujarat’s alertness and preparedness as a border state amid the ongoing tension. Given the high alert in Gujarat’s districts connected to Pakistan by sea, land, and air borders, the CM conducted a video conference with the administration, police, and senior district officials to review the security and safety arrangements being put in place.
