Gujarat govt issues advisory on social media use for employees

Gandhinagar: The State Department of Science and Technology has issued guidelines advising all government departments, officers, and employees to use social media cautiously and responsibly in the event of a war-like situation.
The advisory strictly instructs staff not to post or share government documents, meeting photos, workplace images, or ID cards. It also warns against clicking on unknown or suspicious links, documents, QR codes, or emails.
All users are directed to use strong passwords and two-factor authentication (2FA) for all platforms. Official government email IDs must not be linked with personal or third-party apps.
The guidelines stress maintaining neutrality and refraining from commenting or giving political opinions on any matter. Employees are also advised not to forward messages on WhatsApp or other platforms without verifying their authenticity.
Professionalism and etiquette must be maintained in all online communications. The use of government department logos or symbols in any group without permission is prohibited. Sharing photos, videos, or images of government premises or meetings is also restricted.
