Gujarat govt to procure moong crop at MSP; registration on e-Samriddhi portal from May 15
May 14, 2025
Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government today announced that it will purchase moong crops from farmers across all districts at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) in the near future.
As per the official statement, the Union government had announced an MSP of ₹8,682 per quintal for the summer moong crop for the year 2024–25. However, the market price for summer moong at various APMC yards is currently around ₹6,772 per quintal.
State Agriculture Minister Raghavji Patel stated that to prevent any economic loss to farmers due to the lower market prices, the state government has decided to procure summer moong at the MSP.
Farmers in Gujarat can register to sell their summer moong at the MSP between May 15 and May 25, 2025, through e-Gram centers at the village level. Registration will be carried out by Village Computer Entrepreneurs (VCEs) on NAFED’s e-Samriddhi portal, and no registration fee will be charged to farmers.
The state government has made all necessary arrangements for the procurement of an adequate quantity of summer moong directly from farmers, the minister added. DeshGujarat
