Dy. Executive Engineer booked in ₹1.5 lakh bribe case in Vadodara
May 23, 2025
Vadodara: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has registered a case against Kaushik Shantilal Parmar, a Class-2 Deputy Executive Engineer with the Vadodara Municipal Corporation, for allegedly demanding a bribe of ₹1.5 lakh in a municipal tender case dating back to 2018.
According to the complaint filed by Police Inspector A.N. Prajapati of the Vadodara City ACB police station, Parmar had demanded a total bribe of ₹3 lakh—5% of the ₹60 lakh tender awarded to the complainant for the operation and maintenance of the Ajwa Road balancing reservoir. The complainant had initially paid ₹1.5 lakh, but when the agreed-upon work did not progress, the complainant approached the accused, who allegedly demanded the remaining ₹1.5 lakh, prompting the complainant to approach the ACB.
A trap was laid on November 21, 2018, a day after the complaint was filed, but the accused did not accept the bribe, and the trap was declared unsuccessful. However, further investigation and forensic examination of the recorded conversation confirmed that Parmar had indeed demanded a bribe. Based on this evidence, a case has now been registered against him. DeshGujarat
