PM Modi to launch projects worth ₹24,000 crore from Dahod

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on a two-day tour from May 26 to 27, 2025. During this visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth more than ₹24,000 crore across various state government departments, including the Railways, at a program scheduled for May 26 in Kharod, Dahod.
Inauguration of Loco Manufacturing Shop—Rolling Stock Workshop
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Loco Manufacturing Shop—Rolling Stock Workshop in Dahod, built by the Ministry of Railways at a cost of ₹21,405 crore. Along with this, he will also inaugurate railway works worth a total of ₹23,692 crore, including the doubling of the Anand-Godhra, Mehsana-Palanpur, and Rajkot-Hadmatiya rail lines, the 107 km Sabarmati-Botad rail line electrification, and the Kalol-Kadi-Katosan rail line gauge conversion, which together are worth ₹2,287 crore.
The Prime Minister will dedicate the country’s first 9000 HP locomotive engine in Dahod. A railway production unit has been set up in Dahod with a ‘Make in India’ approach at a cost of over ₹21,000 crore.
193 villages to benefit from new water supply schemes
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate four drinking water improvement group water supply schemes worth ₹181 crore to ensure that the citizens living in Mahisagar and Dahod districts receive clean drinking water. With the commissioning of these group water supply schemes, a population of 4.62 lakh across 193 villages and one city in Mahisagar and Dahod districts will get clean drinking water at the rate of 100 liters per capita per day (LPCD).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Namnar Improvement Group Water Supply Scheme, constructed by the Gujarat Water Supply Board at an estimated cost of ₹49 crore. Under this scheme, clean drinking water will be provided to a total population of 1.01 lakh across 39 villages, including 37 villages of Balasinor taluka and one village each of Virpur and Lunawada talukas in Mahisagar district.
Similarly, the Kheroli Improvement Group Water Supply Scheme, built at a cost of ₹70 crore, will be inaugurated to provide clean drinking water to 1.16 lakh people in 51 villages, including 49 villages in Virpur taluka and three villages in Lunawada taluka of Mahisagar district, as well as to 15,011 residents of Virpur city.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Charangam Improvement Group Water Supply Scheme, constructed at a cost of ₹33 crore. Under this scheme, more than 83,000 people across 44 villages in the Lunawada taluka of the Mahisagar district will be provided with drinking water.
In addition, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Gothib Group Water Supply Scheme, built at a cost of ₹29 crore. Under this scheme, clean drinking water at the rate of 100 LPCD will be provided to 11 villages not previously included in any group scheme, 31 villages under the Kadana Part-2 Group Scheme, and 16 villages under the Bhanasimal Group Scheme. This scheme covers a total population of 1.46 lakh across 58 villages in Santrampur taluka of Mahisagar district and Fatepura taluka of Dahod district. Through these four water supply schemes, a total of 193 villages — including 37 in Balasinor taluka, 50 in Virpur taluka, 48 in Lunawada taluka, and 58 in Santrampur and Fatepura talukas, and one city will get clean drinking water.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate to the public development works worth ₹233 crore under Dahod Smart City, including the Dahod Municipal Building, Tribal Museum, and other projects aimed at improving public amenities and welfare. In addition, he will inaugurate police housing projects worth ₹53 crore.
The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for works worth ₹581 crore, including upgrading the Savli-Timba road to a four-lane road, widening the Kayavarohan-Sadhali and Jarod-Samlaya roads, and constructing a new bridge on the Padmala-Ranoli road in the Vadodara district of central Gujarat.
Furthermore, in Balasinor of Mahisagar district, he will lay the foundation stone for projects worth ₹26 crore under Amrut 2.0 and the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Urban Development Scheme, as well as a heavy bridge to be constructed at a cost of ₹26 crore in Chhota Udepur district and a railway overbridge at LC 65 at a cost of ₹73 crore. Thus, the Prime Minister will perform the foundation-laying ceremonies for a total of seven different development works worth ₹706 crore.
