Gujarat HC Gets Bomb Threat; Chief Justice Orders Closure of Courts Post-Lunch

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat High Court today allegedly received a bomb threat via email. The alert put the police and security agencies on high alert. All gates of the High Court were immediately closed, and bomb squad and dog squad teams arrived at the location for urgent inspection.
Following the receipt of the suspicious email, police reached the spot and began their investigation. At present, high-level checking is underway, and strict screening of every individual and vehicle is being carried out.
According to Zone-1 in-charge DCP Safin Hasan, a threatening email was sent by a suspicious person to the email account of a High Court official. The Cyber Cell has been roped in to trace the source of the email, and further investigation is in progress.
Meanwhile, the Chief Justice has ordered the closure of courts post-lunch. An official note from the Registrar General stated, “Because of unavoidable circumstances, it has been decided to discontinue the functioning of the Courts after lunch, i.e., after 1:45 pm. The Courts are requested to convey to the lawyers that they will not be functioning after lunch, and also that all will have to leave the premises as early as possible, as a security check of the entire Court premises is required.”
So far, no explosive material has been found, but heightened security measures have been implemented in the High Court premises. DeshGujarat
