Dang: Gujarat’s most scenic hill station, Saputara, is all set to host its annual Monsoon Festival – Megh Malhar Parv from 26 July to 17 August 2025, promising a vibrant celebration of culture, tradition, and natural beauty.
Organised by Gujarat Tourism, the festival is a much-awaited event that celebrates the magic of the monsoon in the breathtaking landscapes of the Dang district. The picturesque Saputara Lake and surrounding areas will come alive with a series of colourful cultural events, traditional folk performances, regional cuisine stalls, and art showcases that highlight the rich heritage of Gujarat.
The Saputara Monsoon Festival’s opening day will kick off with a Cultural Carnival under the banner of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.” Throughout the festival, visitors can lace up for the spirited Rain Run Marathon on 15th August, cheer on vibrant local folk dance performances at Sunset Point, Main Circle, and Governor Hill, and enjoy weekend headliners as renowned artists take the stage every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and on public holidays. On other days, Saputara’s own talents will light up the venues, while strategically placed selfie points and evocative monsoon-themed decorations provide picture‑perfect backdrops at every turn.
As part of the festival’s Janmashtami celebrations, competitors will vie in a thrilling Dahi Handi competition, recreating the spirit and spectacle of this beloved tradition. Beyond the programmed events, tourists will also have the chance to explore Saputara’s nearby natural gems, including Don Hill Station, Gira Waterfalls, Girmal Waterfalls, and the Waghai Botanical Garden.
With misty hills, cultural vibrancy, and monsoon charm, Megh Malhar Parv 2025 promises an unforgettable experience for all who visit. DeshGujarat
