Over 10,000 Aspirants Appear for SPIPA Entrance Exam for UPSC Training

Gandhinagar: A turnout of over 10,000 candidates was recorded for the entrance examination conducted by the Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA) on July 20, 2025, for admission to its UPSC Civil Services training program. The exam was held simultaneously in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, and Mehsana.The entrance exam was followed the UPSC preliminary pattern comprising two papers — Paper-1 and Paper-2.
Proactive arrangements for candidates with disabilities were done. Officials contacted such candidates in advance to understand and accommodate their specific needs.
The UPSC Civil Services Study Center at SPIPA, Ahmedabad — along with its five regional centers — offers comprehensive training to aspirants aiming for All India and other Central Services. Currently, training is provided to 635 selected candidates across centers in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, and Mehsana. The program includes free coaching for all stages of the UPSC examination, access to modern reading rooms, free Wi-Fi, and monthly financial assistance for up to seven months. Candidates who clear the prelims, mains, or final UPSC stages also receive performance-based incentives as per government norms.
In 2021–22, 16 SPIPA trainees cracked the UPSC examination, followed by 26 in both 2022–23 and 2023–24. In the Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2024, 259 candidates from SPIPA cleared the prelims, with 70 reaching the interview stage and 26 securing final selection. So far, a total of 311 candidates trained at SPIPA have been selected for All India and Central Services.
Notably, SPIPA candidates from Gujarat secured All India Ranks 2, 4, and 30 in the previous year. This track record has led to increase in applications for the 2025 training batch. DeshGujarat
