Vadodara: An inquiry will be conducted into the properties of five officials who are allegedly responsible for negligence that led to the collapse of the Mujpur-Gambhira bridge. According to reports, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Gandhinagar has ordered the Vadodara ACB branch to carry out this investigation. If assets disproportionate to the officials’ known income are found, a case will be filed against them.

A senior official from the Vadodara ACB confirmed receiving the order from Gandhinagar, stating, “We will investigate the income, investments, and properties of these five officials and submit a detailed report to the government. If assets beyond their legitimate income are detected, an official complaint will be registered.”

Following the tragic collapse of the bridge connecting Vadodara and Anand, which claimed 21 lives, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel assigned a team of experts to prepare a report on the bridge’s entire maintenance history, past inspections, and quality checks.

Based on the preliminary observations of the expert team after visiting the accident site, the Chief Minister decided to immediately suspend the officials found responsible.
