ACB Gujarat nabs Mamlatdar, driver in bribe case

Prantij: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has nabbed a Mamlatdar and his driver red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹50,000.
According to the ACB, the complainant’s vehicles frequently operate between Prantij and Ahmedabad to transport materials such as sand and gravel. To ensure these vehicles were not seized or subjected to heavy penalties, accused Mamlatdar Jagdishkumar Dabhi allegedly instructed his driver, accused Kamleshkumar Parmar, to demand a bribe of ₹10,000 per vehicle — amounting to a total bribe demand of ₹50,000 for five vehicles.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB. Acting on the complaint, the ACB set a trap in the parking lot of the Prantij Mamlatdar office, where the driver accepted the full bribe amount inside an Eeco vehicle. During the operation, both the Mamlatdar and the driver were caught for misusing their official positions and engaging in corrupt practices. DeshGujarat
