24 hours rainfall data from across Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Several districts of Gujarat witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours ending at 6 AM today. According to official data, Chhota Udepur’s Sankheda taluka received the highest rainfall at 102 mm (4.02 inches). In total, 225 talukas recorded rainfall during this period.

Surat’s Umarpada taluka followed closely with 99 mm (3.90 inches), while Sabarkantha’s Idar recorded 98 mm (3.86 inches). Other areas with significant rainfall include Vyara in Tapi (90 mm), Dabhoi in Vadodara (80 mm), Danta in Banaskantha (79 mm), Radhanpur in Patan (79 mm), and Khedbrahma in Sabarkantha (78 mm).

Many talukas in central and north Gujarat also received widespread rainfall ranging between 50 mm and 70 mm, including Maliya (Morbi), Dediapada (Narmada), Jamkandorna (Rajkot), Dhrangadhra (Surendranagar), Mahuva (Surat), and Valod (Tapi).

Rainfall between 25 mm and 50 mm was reported from several areas across Vadodara, Aravalli, Gandhinagar, Mehsana, Panchmahal, Navsari, and parts of Saurashtra. Meanwhile, light showers between 1 mm and 20 mm were recorded in Kutch, Botad, Bhavnagar, Amreli, and other pockets.

The widespread showers have brought relief to farmers while also raising water levels in reservoirs and rivers across the state. The Meteorological Department has predicted that moderate rainfall activity is likely to continue in several parts of Gujarat over the coming days. DeshGujarat
