Darbhanga: Bihar Police today arrested a man for allegedly using abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother during Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in the state.

The accused, 20-year-old Mohammad Rizvi alias Raza, was taken into custody from the Singhwara area of Darbhanga town. A case was registered against him and others following a complaint filed by BJP’s Darbhanga district president, Aditya Narayan Choudhary.

A video circulating on social media allegedly showed Mohammad Rizvi directing a Hindi expletive at PM Modi and his mother from a raised dais during the yatra in Darbhanga. Rahul Gandhi, his sister Priyanka Vadra, and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav had departed from the location for Muzaffarpur on motorcycles on Wednesday.

Reacting to the incident, Union Home Minister Amit Shah intensified his criticism of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, demanding a public apology. Speaking at a rally in Guwahati, Shah said, “Congress leaders have committed an inexcusable act by using offensive language against PM Modi’s mother during their Ghuspaithiya Bachao Yatra. I strongly condemn it. Several Congress leaders have made derogatory remarks against PM Modi.” He added, “I urge Rahul Gandhi to show some sense of shame and apologise to PM Modi, his late mother, and the people of the country.”

Gujarat Chief Minister also posted a video on Twitter condemning the act, saying, “I strongly condemn the indecent and unbecoming comments made by the leaders of the INDI Alliance about the respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother from the platforms of Congress and RJD in Bihar. This incident shows to what extent the Congress Party, especially under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, has stooped to the lowest level of politics. Born into a simple, poor family, the mother endured a lifelong struggle and instilled values in her son, giving the country a capable, patriotic, and dedicated leader like PM Modi. The abusive language used against the mother of such a patriot is not only an attack on PM Modi but also on the sentiments of 140 crore Indians. This language attacks the dignity of every mother and child. The people of the country will never forgive this despicable mentality of the leaders of the ‘INDI Alliance’.” DeshGujarat
