Jamnagar neighbours clash over pet dog, four injured, two FIRs filed

Jamnagar: Local police have registered two FIRs after a dispute between neighbours over a pet dog escalated into violence, leaving four people injured. Seven persons have been booked as both sides lodged complaints following the Tuesday night incident.

According to the first FIR filed at A Division police station, Heena Joshi accused her neighbour Ashok Bhanushali of harassing her pet dog. When she confronted him, an argument broke out, and Ashok allegedly called his family members—Raja, Amit, and Shailesh—leading to a violent clash. Heena, her daughter Mahek, and her brothers Jayesh and Deepak were allegedly attacked with sticks, pipes, and sharp weapons. Four people, including Heena, were injured—three required hospitalisation, while Mahek was treated as an outpatient. Heena later lodged an FIR under BNS Sections 115(2), 352, and 54.

In a counter-complaint, Ashok accused Heena and her brothers of assaulting his daughter and using the pet dog to intimidate her. He further alleged that when he tried to resolve the matter, the dog began barking, and Heena threatened to frame him using her brother’s influence as a lawyer. Police have registered both FIRs and launched an investigation into the rival claims. DeshGujarat
