Centre notifies 37 airports, 34 ports and 37 land crossings as immigration posts

New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has designated 37 airports, 34 sea and river ports, and 37 international land crossing points as official immigration posts for the entry and exit of international passengers. In addition, six railway stations on the India–Pakistan and India–Bangladesh borders have also been notified as immigration posts. In Gujarat, Ahmedabad and Surat airports are on the list along with seaports at Alang, Bedi Bunder (Jamnagar), Bhavnagar, Kandla, Mandvi, Mundra, and Porbandar.
The announcement was made through a gazette notification following the enforcement of the Immigration and Foreigners Order, 2025 on September 1.
Among the airports included are Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Jaipur, Amritsar, Thiruvananthapuram, Cochin, Goa’s Dabolim and Manohar International Airports, and several others across the country.
Major seaports such as Mumbai, Kandla, Mundra, Cochin, Chennai, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, Tuticorin, Paradeep, Mormugao, Nhava Sheva, and Port Blair are also on the list, along with smaller ports in Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam, and Odisha.
The designated land ports cover key border points with Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Myanmar, including Attari, Dera Baba Nanak, Banbasa, Changrabandha, Ghojadanga, Petrapole, Dawki, Sutarkandi, Agartala, Raxaul, Jogbani, Moreh, and Zokhawthar.
For rail passengers, immigration facilities will now be available at Munabao in Rajasthan, Attari in Punjab, and four stations in West Bengal — Gede, Petrapole/Chitpur, Haridaspur, and New Jalpaiguri. DeshGujarat
