Demand for Gujarat CM’s Intervention in stalled PM Mitra Park Project progress 2 Years after MoU
September 15, 2025
Surat, September 15: The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) has urged Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to step in and expedite the long-pending development of the PM Mitra Mega Textile Park at Vansi-Borsi in Navsari district.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, SGCCI President Nikhil Madrasi highlighted growing concerns among textile industrialists regarding the delay in ground-level progress on the project. He noted that despite the signing of an MoU between the Central and State governments in July 2023, and the formation of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), neither a master developer has been appointed nor has construction begun.
“The establishment of PM Mitra Park at Vansi-Borsi will open new doors of growth for the textile industry not only in Navsari but across South Gujarat. However, almost two years have passed since the agreement, and no significant action has been taken,” Madrasi said in his appeal.
The chamber stressed that the proposed mega park holds the potential to transform the region into a major textile hub, attracting investment, generating employment, and boosting exports. The delay, however, has led to mounting frustration among industrialists who are keen to see the project take shape.
SGCCI has requested the Chief Minister to issue direct instructions to accelerate the project’s implementation, ensuring that South Gujarat does not miss out on this critical opportunity for industrial growth.
