ACB Gujarat Nabs PGVCL Junior Engineer in Bribery Case

Kutch: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today caught a Junior Engineer of Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL) red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹13,000 in Kutch district.
The accused, identified as Hareshkumar Naranbhai Bokhani, Junior Engineer (Class-II) at PGVCL’s Ravapar office, had allegedly demanded ₹13,000 from a complainant in Vigodi village of Nakhatrana taluka. The bribe was sought in exchange for not imposing a hefty penalty for alleged meter overloading at the complainant’s residence.
Unwilling to pay the illegal gratification, the complainant approached the Bhuj ACB and lodged a formal complaint. Acting swiftly, the ACB team laid a trap at the complainant’s house in Vigodi village. During the operation, the accused demanded and accepted the bribe amount of ₹13,000, which was immediately recovered from his possession.
The trap was successfully executed under the leadership of Shri L.S. Chaudhary, Police Inspector, Bhuj ACB Post, with overall supervision by Shri K.H. Gohil, Assistant Director, ACB Border Unit, Bhuj.
The ACB has registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is underway. DeshGujarat
