Here is Why Ahmedabad Air Show of Surya Kiran Aerobatics Team Got Canceled
October 26, 2025
Ahmedabad: The much-anticipated Indian Air Force (IAF) air show by the Surya Kiran Aerobatics Team, scheduled in Ahmedabad on October 26, has been canceled at the last minute to prevent disruption of commercial flight operations.
According to sources, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad is witnessing heavy air traffic due to the festive rush and Summer vacation in Gujarat. Conducting an air show for an hour would have required suspending all flight takeoffs and landings for about one and a half hours, potentially disturbing the schedule of nearly 40 flights.
Officials informed the decision was taken to avoid inconvenience to passengers and ensure smooth airport operations. The air show in Ahmedabad was planned after a gap of two years.
Earlier, the Surya Kiran team successfully performed in Mehsana on October 24. Now, the next and only show in Gujarat will be held as planned at the Statue of Unity on October 31.
