PM Modi likely to visit Gujarat later this month

Gandhinagar: Just 15 days after his recent visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to make another short visit to his home state of Gujarat later this month. During this one-day visit on November 15, the Prime Minister is likely to take part in the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of tribal icon Birsa Munda.

The celebrations will be held at the tribal town of Dediapada in Narmada district, where the Gujarat government has installed a statue of Birsa Munda—revered as the ‘God of Tribals’—in honor of his fight against British colonial rule. Arrangements are being made for the Prime Minister to kick off the celebrations. As per the plans, he is expected to arrive in Surat in the morning and proceed to Dediapada by helicopter.

The Gujarat government has made special budgetary provisions this year to mark the occasion. Under the New Gujarat Pattern Scheme, the state has allocated ₹1,100 crore for improving education, employment opportunities, and infrastructure facilities in tribal areas.

Meanwhile, a 15-day Anand Mela is currently underway in Kevadia as part of Bharat Parv, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. On the concluding day of this event, the state government plans to celebrate Birsa Munda Jayanti as Tribal Pride Day.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is also scheduled to attend the Dediapada event. Notably, Prime Minister Modi had recently visited Kevadia on October 30–31 for the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations. DeshGujarat
