PM Modi to launch Rs 8,400 crore projects in Gujarat during Janjati Gaurav Diwas celebrations

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Birsa Munda at Dediapada in Narmada district on November 15, said state government spokesperson Jitu Vaghani on Wednesday. On the occasion, the PM will also lay the foundation stones and inaugurate projects worth Rs 8,400 crore.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi reviewed the event arrangements during the cabinet meeting in Gandhinagar on Wednesday. Speaking to reporters afterward, Vaghani said the Prime Minister is also expected to visit the Devmogra Mata temple during his trip.

“The Prime Minister will preside over the state-level function, while ministers, MLAs, and officials will participate in events in other districts. The 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda will be celebrated nationwide as ‘Janjati Gaurav Diwas,’ with several programs organized across the state,” Vaghani added.

The government noted that over 5.95 lakh people have already participated in the ‘Janjati Gaurav Yatras,’ which are being conducted from Ambaji to Ekta Nagar and from Umargam to Ekta Nagar.

“From November 13 to 15, additional programs such as service camps, health camps, cleanliness drives, and plays based on Birsa Munda’s life will be organized in 20 non-tribal districts,” Vaghani said. The yatra features 82 health camps, 51 Seva Setu camps, and cleanliness initiatives at more than 2,500 locations, culminating at Ekta Nagar on November 13.

He further added that a special theatrical presentation on Birsa Munda’s life will take place at Ekta Nagar on November 15. DeshGujarat
