November 22, 2025
Ahmedabad: Gujarati cinema’s record-breaking hit Laalo – Shri Krishna Sada Sahayate is now gearing up for a nationwide audience with its Hindi-dubbed release on November 28. After making history in Gujarat, the film aims to replicate its success across Hindi-speaking regions.
Released on October 10, 2025, the film had a slow start but became a phenomenon through strong word-of-mouth. By the fourth week, it emerged as a blockbuster, becoming the first Gujarati film to collect over ₹5 crore in a single day.
Made on a modest budget of ₹50 lakh, Laalo has so far earned ₹71 crore and is widely expected to enter the ₹100-crore club, a milestone never achieved in Gujarati cinema.
Directed by Ankit Sakiya, the film has been praised for its emotional storytelling and spiritual depth. The cast, including Karan Joshi, Reeva Rachh, Shruhad Goswami, Anshu Joshi and Kinnal Nayak, has been lauded for their realistic performances. Shruhad Goswami plays the role of Lord Krishna.
The dubbing process for the Hindi version is nearly complete, and the makers are now awaiting censor certification ahead of release.
The film’s success is being seen as a landmark moment for Gujarati cinema, which has rapidly evolved in recent years with strong stories, improved filmmaking techniques, and increasing urban youth viewership. Laalo initially released on only 2–3 screens in Ahmedabad, but demand has surged to the point where cinema halls are running packed shows and tickets are still hard to find.
Interestingly, the film has also set another box office benchmark, surpassing Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava by earning an impressive ₹24.40 crore in its sixth week.
Audiences and exhibitors believe the film has not just broken records, it has reshaped expectations for Gujarati cinema. DeshGujarat
