Selamba youth booked for repeatedly harassing Hindu woman, demanding her mobile number

Dediapada: A youth from Selamba has been booked for allegedly molesting and repeatedly harassing a Hindu woman in public. Despite the FIR being registered at Sagbara Police Station, the accused has not been arrested even after 24 hours.
According to the complaint, the woman, a resident of Sagbara and employed as a cook, was returning home after work when the accused, identified as Salman Aslam Mansuri, intercepted her near the Anganwadi premises at Birsamunda Chowk. He allegedly demanded her mobile number and attempted to force a conversation. When the woman refused and hurried toward her home, Salman reportedly chased her, abused her, and continued to harass her.
The victim has also stated that the accused had previously stalked her, humiliated her by making obscene gestures, and persistently demanded her mobile number.
Following the incident, police registered a case of molestation against Salman under the relevant IPC sections. However, with no arrest made so far, residents have expressed anger and questioned the police’s seriousness. DeshGujarat
