IIMA to do impact assessment study for proposed 2036 Olympic games in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad will do an Impact Assessment Study for the year 2036 Olympic games in Ahmedabad.

Gujarat Sports Infrastructure Development Company Ltd has given authorization letter to IIMA for this study, for which IIMA has sought details from various departments of Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC).

AMC has appointed Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Sports) Nilesh Patel as the point of contact officer for this exercise.

The report would cover the details regarding Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS), Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS), annual capital expenditure by function (roads, bridges, housing, water, drainage), project-wise investments (outer ring road, riverfront phases, games village etc.), town planning scheme progress and socio economic assessments, water and sewage infrastructure expansion – capacity and coverage, land acquisition and estate development values, municipal revenue including annual property tax collection and the details regarding smart city corporation ltd.
