Illegal dargah encroachment razed near Adalaj Stepwell in Gandhinagar
November 26, 2025
Gandhinagar: In yet another action against illegal encroachments hampering road-widening activities, the district administration removed a years-old religious structure obstructing the road near Adalaj Stepwell early Wednesday morning.
The operation to raze the Balapir Dargah was carried out under tight police security, with key officials, including the Mamlatdar, present at the site.
Authorities said the action, conducted in the public interest, was planned secretly to prevent protests or conflicts. This marks the second major demolition of illegal structures in Gandhinagar in recent days, following the removal of two religious and seven other unauthorized structures near Sector-30 Circle.
Through this move, the administration has sent a clear message that illegal encroachments, including religious ones, will not be tolerated in the city’s road development projects. DeshGujarat
