December 03, 2025
Ahmedabad: The Estate and Urban Development Department of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sealed 58 shops and offices at Vrajeshwari Shopping Centre, Plot No. 304, Bapunagar (Third Amendment, Town Planning Scheme No. 11), near Viratnagar Char Rasta on National Highway 8 in the Bapunagar ward of the North Zone.
This comes a day after a massive fire that started in an oil shop on the ground floor spread and gutted 18 shops in the complex.
The AMC, in a statement, said that on December 2, 2025, a fire hazard was reported at the property, which was found to be dangerous, risky, and unfit for use. Moreover, the building lacked proper development permission, occupancy certificate, fire NOC, and other required approvals.
To ensure public safety and precaution, and to prevent any potential harm to surrounding properties or lives, the AMC sealed the ground floor with 18 shops, the first floor with 20 shops, and the second floor with 20 shops/offices, totaling 58 units, on December 3, 2025, in their existing condition, the statement added.
