Minimum Temperatures Dip in Ahmedabad and Baroda; Rise in Surat and Rajkot

Ahmedabad: Minimum temperatures across Gujarat showed mixed trends on Tuesday, with cooler conditions prevailing in parts of central and north Gujarat, while coastal and southern regions recorded comparatively warmer nights. Among the top four cities, a slight fall was recorded in Ahmedabad and Baroda, while Surat and Rajkot witnessed a rise in temperatures.
According to the latest weather report issued by the Indian Meteorological Department on Tuesday morning, Ahmedabad recorded a maximum temperature of 30.6°C, marginally higher than the previous day’s 30.3°C, but the minimum temperature dipped from 16.2°C on December 15 to 15.4°C, indicating cooler nights. Baroda also experienced a noticeable drop, with the maximum temperature falling from 32.4°C to 31.8°C and the minimum declining from 13.0°C to 11.8°C.
In contrast, Surat and Rajkot showed a warming trend. Surat’s maximum temperature eased from 34.8°C to 32.7°C, but the minimum temperature rose sharply from 16.4°C to 18.9°C, pointing to warmer nights. Rajkot continued to remain among the warmer cities during the daytime, with the maximum temperature touching 33.3°C, while also witnessing an increase in the minimum temperature from 13.4°C to 15.3°C.
The coldest town was Naliya at 11.2°C, while Amreli recorded a nighttime temperature of 12.6°C. Porbandar also reported a cool night, with the minimum temperature settling at 12.9°C. In north Gujarat, Deesa recorded a minimum of 14.0°C, while Bhuj logged 14.4°C.
Dwarka recorded a minimum temperature of 19.2°C, Veraval 18.1°C, and Bhavnagar 18.0°C. Okha was the warmest at night, with the minimum temperature touching 21.6°C, reflecting the influence of coastal humidity.
Overall, while central Gujarat cities like Ahmedabad and Baroda experienced relatively cooler conditions, Saurashtra and south Gujarat regions, particularly Rajkot and Surat, saw a rise in temperatures. No rainfall was reported at any of the stations during the period. DeshGujarat
