Police, SRP grounds in Gujarat to open for recruitment aspirants: Harsh Sanghavi

Ahmedabad: Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi today announced that police grounds across the state will be opened for youth preparing for police recruitment.

The announcement was made during the inauguration of multiple projects at the Ahmedabad Rural Police headquarters, including Khakhi Bhavan. On the occasion, Sanghavi also inaugurated ADR-Shield, the Blue Circuit Project, the Abhayatri Project, the Aslali Divisional Police Officer’s office, and the Viramgam Police Line.

Addressing the gathering, Sanghavi said the entire state police grounds will be accessible to youth preparing for police recruitment. In addition to police grounds, youth will also be able to practice at SRP grounds and similar facilities. He added that the state government is making arrangements to provide coaches and physiotherapists for these aspirants.

Commending the Gujarat Police for initiatives such as Tera Tujko Arpan, Sanghavi said that people are now able to recover their lost and stolen items quickly with police support. Referring to cybercrime control, he stated that recently, Rs 33 crore was recovered from cyber criminals in a single day. He added that within the first five days of this month, over 3,000 people who contacted the 1930 helpline were saved from cyber fraud.

Sanghavi noted that the Gujarat Police carried out a historic crackdown on bank accounts used by cyber criminals. Following a decision taken on December 8, the police launched an operation to identify suspected mule accounts, resulting in 508 cases being registered and 423 accused arrested within nine days.

He suggested fixing specific days and hours for public visits so that citizens can meet police officers. Sanghavi emphasized that while criminals must face strict action and discipline, common people should be treated with respect and care to strengthen public trust in the police. DeshGujarat
