Several Gujarat-bound trains affected as Western Railway announces 30-day block
December 20, 2025
Mumbai: Western Railway has issued a traffic work order for the Kandivali–Borivali section to facilitate the construction of the sixth railway line, necessitating a 30-day block from December 20, 2025.
During the block period, several suburban and long-distance trains will be short-terminated or short-originated, while some services will be regulated, rescheduled, or cancelled. In addition, select trains will skip their scheduled halt at Borivali station as part of the traffic management plan.
To minimise passenger inconvenience, additional halts will be provided at Vasai Road and Andheri stations for certain services in lieu of the Borivali stoppage.
Western Railway has released detailed operational arrangements through annexures accompanying the traffic order.
-
Annexure I lists trains that will be short-terminated, short-originated, or cancelled.
-
Annexure II contains details of rescheduled trains.
-
Annexure III outlines services that will be regulated.
-
Annexure IV specifies trains skipping Borivali halt and those provided additional halts at Vasai Road and Andheri.
Passengers are advised to check train schedules in advance and stay updated through official railway announcements during the block period.
