However, the minimum temperature in the city stood at 15.1°C, which was 2.9°C above normal, indicating warmer-than-usual night conditions.
According to the latest weather report issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) this morning, several cities in the state reported near-normal to slightly above-normal maximum temperatures, while minimum temperatures remained above normal at most locations.
Similar to Ahmedabad, Vadodara also recorded a maximum temperature of 29.8°C, a dip of 0.4°C from normal, while the minimum temperature settled at 14.6°C, which was 1.6°C above normal.
In Gandhinagar, the maximum temperature settled at 28.0°C, remaining normal for the season, while the minimum temperature was 14.0°C, i.e., 2.1°C above normal. Rajkot registered one of the highest day temperatures in the state at 31.9°C, which was 2.3°C above normal, with the minimum at 14.4°C, about 1.9°C above normal.
Surat recorded a maximum of 32.6°C, higher than normal by 1.4°C, while its minimum temperature stood at 17.8°C, 2.7°C above normal. Bhuj in Kutch also reported warm conditions, with a maximum of 30.5°C (+2.1°C) and a minimum of 15.0°C (+3.9°C). Naliya reported one of the lowest night temperatures in the state at 11.2°C, though it still remained 1.7°C above normal.
Coastal locations including Porbandar (29.8°C), Veraval (30.1°C), Dwarka (29.5°C) and Okha (26.3°C) recorded near-normal maximum temperatures. Humidity levels remained moderate across the state, and no rainfall was reported from any station during the period.
Weather officials noted that despite marginal cooling during the day in some urban centres, night temperatures continue to remain above normal due to prevailing atmospheric conditions. Further cooling trends are likely to depend on wind patterns and incoming northern air flow in the coming days. DeshGujarat
