Ahmedabad Flower Show 2026 Sets Two Guinness World Records

Ahmedabad: The 14th Ahmedabad International Flower Show 2026, organised by the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC), has achieved a significant milestone on the global stage this year. Held under the theme “Bharat Ek Gatha”, the flower show has set two new Guinness World Records simultaneously in 2026, thereby registering a hat-trick of world records for the third consecutive year.

This year, two Guinness World Records have been created at the Flower Show. The first record is for the world’s largest flower mandala, while the second is for the world’s largest flower portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Notably, the flower mandala created at the Sabarmati Riverfront Event Centre was measured with high precision using DGPS (Differential Global Positioning System) technology. As per the official survey report, the magnificent flower mandala has a diameter of approximately 33.6 metres and a total area of 886.789 square metres. Based on these measurements carried out using high-accuracy DGPS instruments, the flower mandala has been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records. Previously, the minimum benchmark for this category was fixed at 706.86 square metres.

Along with this, the world’s largest flower portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a symbol of national unity, has emerged as a major attraction. The portrait was measured using Total Station Survey and measuring tape methods. According to the survey report, the flower portrait measures 41.17 metres in length, 8 metres in width, and covers a total area of 329.360 square metres. Based on these parameters, the portrait has been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest flower portrait. Earlier, the minimum benchmark in this category was set at 50 square metres.

Thus, by securing a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for three consecutive years, the Ahmedabad International Flower Show has given World Heritage City Ahmedabad a distinct global identity. The Flower Show earned a Guinness World Record in 2024 for creating the longest flower structure and in 2025 for making the world’s largest flower bouquet, which was recognised as the largest of its kind globally. In 2026, with two new world records, the Flower Show showcased an exceptional blend of creativity, planning capability, and technical precision.

Organised under the theme “Bharat Ek Gatha”, the Flower Show is not merely a floral exhibition, but has evolved into a historic festival that presents India’s cultural heritage, national unity, and the creative strength of modern India on a global platform.

It is noteworthy that the Ahmedabad International Flower Show was inaugurated on January 1, 2026, by Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel, and will remain open to the general public until January 22, 2026. DeshGujarat
