Ahmedabad: The State Food and Drugs Control Administration (FDCA) has intensified its crackdown on the illegal sale and storage of medicines, seizing allopathic drugs worth over ₹40 lakh during a surprise raid in the city.

Sharing details, FDCA Commissioner Dr. Ratankanwar Gadhvi Charan said strict action is being taken across the state against those involved in adulteration and violations of drug laws. As part of the drive, a team led by Deputy Commissioner (IB) Y.G. Darji and Drug Inspector Dr. Purva Patel conducted an inspection at a shop located on the first floor of E-24, Manhar Nagar Shopping Centre in Ahmedabad.

During the inspection, officials found a large stock of medicines stored for sale without a valid license. The premises were allegedly being used by Dharmeshbhai Jayantilal Sathwara. Further inquiry revealed that although Sathwara held a drug license in the name of Medicaselis Health Care at Hilltown Landmark, Nikol, he had shifted and stored his entire stock of allopathic medicines at the Manhar Nagar location without informing the Food and Drug Administration or obtaining the required license for the new premises.

Officials collected six samples from the seized stock and sent them to a laboratory for analysis. The remaining medicines, valued at approximately ₹40 lakh, were seized on the spot.
