Rajkot: Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi on Monday interacted with leading industrialists from the Saurashtra–Kutch region in Rajkot and reaffirmed the Gujarat government’s commitment to supporting industries as a key pillar of the state’s holistic development.

Addressing the interaction programme held at the Rajkot District Collectorate, Sanghavi urged industrialists to expand investments in the state and actively participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC), stating that such platforms play a crucial role in accelerating Gujarat’s industrial growth.

On the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister distributed incentive assistance amounting to ₹956.51 crore to 10,435 industrial entrepreneurs under the state’s industrial policy. Approval letters worth over ₹671 crore were also handed over to 137 industrial units under various schemes of the Industries Department, including textile incentives, industrial infrastructure, environmental schemes, and incentives to industries.

Sanghavi said that when industrialists take entrepreneurial risks to fulfil the aspirations of thousands of youth, the state government stands firmly with them. He noted that the government is adopting a proactive approach to resolve industry-related issues swiftly so that businesses can invest with ease, scale up production, and grow sustainably.

Appreciating the work of the Industries Department, he said the pace of incentive approvals has doubled—from around 225 approvals per day earlier to nearly 450 at present—with a target of reaching 700 approvals per day in the near future.

He further noted that for the first time in the country, the Revenue Department has identified and allotted land for more than 16 GIDC estates within a short time frame. The objective of the meeting, he said, was to take governance to the doorstep of industrialists, ensuring that their issues are resolved locally without the need to approach Gandhinagar. DeshGujarat
