Ahmedabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has booked a trustee and a Class-4 employee of M.M. Patel College of Education in Gulbai Tekra in a bribery case involving ₹3 lakh.
The accused trustee, Timirbhai Vinubhai Amin, is currently absconding, while the other accused, watchman Muralimanohar Ramlalji Jandol, has been arrested by ACB officials.
According to the ACB, the complainant, a retired in-charge principal of the college, approached the agency after Trustee Amin allegedly demanded a total bribe of ₹5 lakh to clear pension, GPF, and leave-encashment related files. Of this, ₹2 lakh was reportedly received earlier, while the remaining ₹3 lakh was being demanded persistently. The trustee allegedly instructed the complainant to hand over the amount to the watchman.
Following the complaint, ACB officials laid a trap inside Pankaj Vidyalaya, near the trustee’s office, where accused Muralimanohar Jandol allegedly accepted ₹3 lakh on behalf of the trustee. He was caught red-handed, while Amin fled the spot, the ACB said. The entire ₹3 lakh bribe amount has been recovered, and further investigation is underway. DeshGujarat
