New passenger lounge to open at Ahmedabad Airport T2
January 08, 2026
Ahmedabad: A new passenger lounge is set to open at the international Terminal 2 (T2) of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport around Uttarayan. Designed as a modern facility, the lounge will cater to both international and domestic travellers.
With the airport handling an average daily footfall of about 35,000 passengers, a figure that continues to rise, there has long been demand for a world-class lounge. The new facility will have seating capacity for over 100 passengers at a time and will feature amenities such as dedicated relaxation areas and charging stations. In addition to Indian cuisine, the lounge will offer Gujarati snacks and meals, as well as Chinese and Italian food options.
Officials are also considering shifting select domestic flights from Terminal 1 (T1) to Terminal 2 in the coming days. The move is aimed at easing congestion, managing growing passenger volumes and ensuring more efficient utilisation of Terminal 2. DeshGujarat
