Gujarat Board clears 13 new schools in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, other districts

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) on Friday granted provisional approval to 13 schools across the state, including one each in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, while rejecting five proposals, officials said.
In addition to Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, approvals were granted to institutions in Mota Kapra, Halol, Vibhapar, Surendranagar, Vairav, Vadodara, and Tankara.
According to the board, around 200 applications have been received for opening new schools from the 2026 academic year. Of these, 18 proposals were taken up for discussion at the latest meeting, following which 13 institutions were cleared to commence operations from the upcoming academic session.
Of the approved schools, four will offer science streams, while nine will run general streams. Five schools will function in the Gujarati medium and eight in English. Officials said the remaining proposals will be examined further before the start of the academic year. DeshGujarat
