Gujarat Delegation Led by Dy CM Harsh Sanghavi to Attend World Economic Forum in Davos

Gandhinagar, January 18: A high-level delegation of the Gujarat government, led by Deputy Chief Minister and State Industries Minister Harsh Sanghavi, will participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, Switzerland, from January 19 to 23.

The state government said the delegation’s participation is aimed at projecting Gujarat’s development agenda on the global stage and advancing its vision of ‘Developed Gujarat @2047’. Officials described the visit as a key part of Gujarat’s strategy to strengthen international economic engagement and attract foreign investment.

During the five-day meeting, Sanghavi is scheduled to hold 58 high-level one-to-one meetings with global industry leaders, investors, and policymakers. These interactions will focus on drawing investments in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, textiles, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, food processing, chemicals, shipping and logistics, and aerospace.

According to the government, the primary objective of these meetings is to bolster Gujarat’s industrial ecosystem and generate new employment opportunities in the state.

The delegation will also meet top executives from multinational companies, including AP Moller Maersk, Engie, EDF, Johnson Controls, Sumitomo Group, Linde, SEALSQ, and Tillman Global. Discussions are expected to center on technology adoption, innovation, and long-term industrial collaboration.

Apart from investment outreach, Sanghavi will represent Gujarat in several policy discussions at the forum. He is slated to be a keynote speaker at sessions on topics such as ‘India in the New Geo-Economic Order’, ‘Power of Sports: From Spectacle to Heritage’, energy transition under the ‘Call to Clean Initiative’, water security through ‘Mission Water’, and sustainability.

The state government said these engagements will help showcase Gujarat’s development model and reinforce its positioning as an investment-friendly and future-ready state.

The WEF is widely regarded as a leading platform for global economic dialogue. Officials noted that India’s growing role at the forum, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has strengthened the country’s influence in global economic discussions. DeshGujarat
