Among major cities, Ahmedabad recorded a minimum temperature of 14.1°C, which was 2.2°C above normal, while Gandhinagar logged 13.5°C, remaining 2.3°C above normal. Vadodara registered a minimum of 14.8°C, nearly 1.9°C above normal. The mercury stood at 15.2°C in Surat, while Rajkot recorded 13.0°C.
Bhuj recorded a minimum temperature of 15.6°C, which was 4.8°C above normal, the highest deviation from the normal temperature in the state. Naliya, one of the coldest places in Gujarat, reported 11.2°C, staying 1.7°C above average. Deesa in north Gujarat recorded 12.3°C, around 2.8°C above normal.
Among the coastal locations, Bhavnagar reported 16.6°C, remaining 2.9°C above normal, while Dwarka and Okha recorded minimum temperatures of 19.0°C and 19.5°C, respectively — both above seasonal norms.
However, a few locations experienced slightly cooler-than-normal conditions. Amreli recorded 9.6°C, which was 2.2°C below normal, while Porbandar reported 12.8°C, marginally 0.7°C below normal.
Relative humidity levels during morning hours remained high across most districts, ranging between 69% and 98%, with Surat and Rajkot recording particularly humid conditions.
Meteorologists noted that generally north-westerly winds are prevailing at lower levels over the region. The overall trend indicates stable weather conditions with milder nights, as minimum temperatures across Gujarat continue to hover mostly above normal for mid-January.
